Unchanged KIA South African Davis Cup Team named for clash with Slovenia

South African Davis Cup captain, Marcos Ondruska, has made no changes to his squad that will go guns-a-blazing into their Euro/Africa Zone Group 2 Round 2 Davis Cup tie against Slovenia from 7-9 April at the Irene Country Club.

The KIA Motors South Africa sponsored squad to take on the Slovenians, comprises of Lloyd Harris, Nik Scholtz, Raven Klaasen, Ruan Roelofse and Tucker Vorster.

Davis Cup is not just about Tennis

South  Africa is set to host another Davis Cup tie. The KIA South African Davis Cup team will take on Slovenia at the Irene Country Club, Pretoria from 7-9 April 2017.
 
Tennis South Africa (TSA) has taken to bring to the game more excitement on and off the court during hosted Davis Cup ties; much to the delight of both the novice and seasoned tennis lovers. Davis Cup, dubbed the WORLD CUP OF TENNIS, will take more interesting turns when South African hosts Slovenia in round two of the Euro/Arica Zone Group.
 

Irene Country Club to host the KIA South Africa vs Slovenia Davis Cup tie

The Irene Country Club in the picturesque Irene area of Pretoria has once again been announced as the Davis Cup venue for next month’s tie versus Slovenia. The Euro/Africa Group 2 round two tie will be played from 7 – 9 April.
 
This is the sixth tie that will be hosted by Irene Country Club. The club is establishing itself as a favourite hunting ground for the KIA South African Davis Cup team and captain Marcos Ondruska is delighted his team will return to Irene to do battle against Slovenia.
 

South Africa best performing country at the African Junior Tennis Championships

The  South African junior under 18 team recently dominated the African Junior Championships which ended in Tunis the Tunisian capital over the weekend.
 
The most notable win for South Africa came when Zoe Kruger won the Girls Under 18 title upsetting second seed Dia El Jardi of Morocco 4-2 4-2 in the final.
 
The tournament organisers were forced to change the format to short sets when rain continuously disrupted play in the early rounds of the outdoor hard court championships.
 

Potchefstroom to host back to back International Junior Events

The first international junior tennis events for 2017 in South Africa will be hosted by North West University at the Riaan Venter Tennis Academy in Potchefstroom over the next two weeks.
 
Two under 18 Grade 5 tournaments for boys and girls to be called the NWU PUKKE ITF 1 and NWU PUKKE ITF 2 will be played at the Potchefstroom campus.
 
There are 12 countries represented in the two events which will have boys and girls singles and doubles.
