Tennis South Africa (TSA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Asociación Enrique Esteire Perla In Memoriam (AEEPIM), a Spain-based non-profit organisation committed to promoting inclusion, accessibility, and opportunities through sport.
As part of the partnership, AEEPIM will become the title sponsor of two International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Tennis Futures tournaments scheduled to take place at Polokwane Tennis Club in Limpopo:
- Enrique Esteire Polokwane Open, 27–30 June 2026
- Breaking Barriers Polokwane Open, 1–4 July 2026
The tournaments will attract rising wheelchair tennis players from South Africa and across the globe, providing valuable international ranking opportunities while strengthening the development of wheelchair tennis on the African continent. The events form part of the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Futures Circuit and will contribute to creating greater competitive opportunities for athletes with disabilities.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment between TSA and AEEPIM to advance inclusion, remove barriers to participation, and create sustainable pathways for wheelchair tennis players to compete and excel at the highest levels.
TSA General Manager Anthony Moruthane welcomed the partnership and highlighted the significance of partnerships in growing the sport.
"These tournaments represent an important milestone for wheelchair tennis in South Africa. They will provide our athletes with the opportunity to compete against international players on home soil while inspiring greater participation and awareness of disability sport. We are grateful to AEEPIM for their support and their belief in the power of sport to transform lives."
