TSA will shortly be starting the first wave of Play Tennis update courses, for pre-2008 qualified coaches, from 1 September 2017 to 1 March 2018. The first update course in each Province is FREE to pre-2008 qualified coaches (i.e. there will be no course fee, but coaches will need to cover their own transport, accommodation and meals costs). If an additional course has to be scheduled in a Province, then course fees will apply to that additional course.

The details for the Gauteng course have now been confirmed. Coaches from other Provinces are welcome to attend this course.

Gauteng (Johannesburg):

  • Date: 16 and 17 September 2017
  • Venue: Bryanston Country Club
  • Starting time: 08:30 for registration to start at 09:00
  • RSVP date: 8 September 2017 with you name, surname & TSA number to [email protected]

In addition to the above, we will be updating the TSA Training Calendar on the TSA website on a regular basis as course dates for other Provinces become available.

General course information:

  •  This will be a 2 day (16 hour in total) course and full attendance is compulsory.
  • As this is an update course, TSA will not be providing any manuals.  Manuals are available to purchase at the TSA office if you prefer a hard copy or you could purchase the manual(s) on the ITF ebooks app available on all Android and Apple devices.  The first edition Play Tennis manual is available as a free download on the ITF ebooks app while the updated Play Tennis manual will be at a cost.
  • The majority of the course will be done through practical work on court.  Please prepare yourself accordingly.
  • There will an assessment for this course in the form of a 30 point multiple-choice written test on day 2.  This assessment will be in the form of an open book test and coaches are allowed to have all course resources present during the test, including electronic devices (phone & tablet/ipad).
  • The courses will be open to all licensed coaches with the appropriate qualification.

We look forward to welcoming you to the course.
