The 2024 BNP Paribas World Team Cup kicks off today at the Megasaray Tennis Academy in Antalya, Turkey. South African teams are ready to leave their mark on the international wheelchair tennis scene.

The draw has placed South Africa in Group C of the women’s World Group alongside Colombia and Switzerland. The South African team, consisting of Kgothatso Montjane and Mariska Venter, will open their campaign today against Switzerland.

In the men’s World Group, South Africa finds itself in Group A, alongside Great Britain, Brazil, and former champions Japan. The South African men's team of Alwande Sikhosana and Evans Maripa is prepared to take on the challenge as they face Great Britain in their opener.

In the quads event, South Africa, who made history as the first team from the African continent to contest a World Team Cup World Group final in 2022, has been drawn alongside Chile, Brazil, and former champions Japan in their Group A round-robin ties. The team, comprising Donald Ramphadi and Lucas Sithole, will begin their campaign today against Brazil.

In the junior boys event, the South African team of Ntando Nokama and Bongumenzi Biyela has been drawn alongside second seeds Brazil, Belgium, and Japan in Group B.
