The women’s singles draw for week one of the Ilana Kloss International, an ITF $25,000 World Tour event has been released at North-West University in Potchefstroom on Monday.
Dutch world number 176 Lesley Kerkhove is the top seed in the singles draw and will open her campaign against Mariam Kolodziejova of Czech Republic on Tuesday.
Behind Kerkhove is Russian world number 198 Marina Melnikova and Nederlands’ Bibiane Schoofs, seeded second and third respectively.
Spearheading the South African challenge in the event, will be Chanel Simmonds, the country's top world ranked player (world ranked 336), who received a wildcard entry into the tournament.
Simmonds will open her campaign against fifth seed Eva Alvarez of Spain on Tuesday.
